Instructions to Presentations Talks
¡ñAs standard technical equipment a computer (PC) and beamer (max. resolution: 1024*768 pixel) will support your high quality presentation.
¡ñFor computer driven presentations please prepare a CD-ROM or an USB key with your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Do not compress (e.g. *.zip) or split your presentation on several media.
¡ñThe software in use will be Microsoft Windows XP (English version) and PowerPoint 2003 (downwards compatible). For video and audio files only 'MPEG2' and 'WAV' data format can be accepted. If your presentation uses digital video or audio files ( *.mpg, *.wav ) check that they are saved in the same directory as your PowerPoint-file and adapt the link if needed.
¡ñAn additional computer will be available at the Presenters' Desk (Preview room) to check the correct functionality of your presentation prior to the session. The computer driven presentations which will be used during the presentation must be checked, sorted and handed to the technician at the Presenters' Desk. The presentation will then be transferred to the respective auditorium and no changes will be possible then.
¡ñPlease bring your data file and give it to technical staffs at Presenters' Desk (3rd floor, Function Room 3B) for saving your file into the official computer as soon as you arrive (until the day before your presentation). After loading the digital file into the official computer, you are advised to check for any irregularity in the fonts and appearance and make changes if necessary.
¡ñSpeakers and Chairpersons will meet in the auditorium 15 minutes prior to their session to be briefed and to get acquainted with the audio visual equipment etc. and resolve any problems.
¡ñPlease prepare a short typewritten biographical note (max. 50 words) for your Chairpersons, mentioning your title, profession, affiliation, activity profile, achievements in your field of specialization, etc. Hand this note to your Chairpersons during the briefing.
Poster Presentations
¡ñA Visual Presentation is a perfect medium for direct two-way communication with all interested delegates on specific topics, projects or programmes.
¡ñDuring Visual Presentation Sessions authors of posters are requested to be present at their posters at the time indicated in the Programme. This will give all Conference delegates the opportunity for questions and discussion.
¡ñAll posters have to be presented in ENGLISH and headed by the title and the author(s) name(s). Advertising material should be avoided but business cards are acceptable. Each poster will bear an official number as indicated in the Programme. This number will also appear on the panel, which has been reserved for your poster presentation.
¡ñThe maximum display area on your panel is: 0.85 m wide and 1.20 m high. This allows for posters of up to A0 format (841 mm x 1189 mm, upright format).
¡ñGood design is essential if this important part of the conference is to be a success. A good visual presentation concentrates on the outstanding features of a project, easily grasped by the viewer, with a minimum of text (less than 50% of the total poster area) and readable at a distance of approx.2 m (use letters at least 10 mm high).
¡ñSelf-adhesive Velcro tape and/or pins will be available to attach your poster on the textile-covered poster panels.
¡ñThe most outstanding Visual Presentations will be awarded. The Awards will be based on the quality of the technical work reported and of the presentation of that work. The Poster Awards will be announced and delivered as a part of the Closing Session.
Posters are at the Lounge of 2th floor.
